About Woodlands Community Primary School
The school was built in September 1977 at the foot of the mountain overlooking the town of Cwmbran, the hills of Gwent and the Bristol Channel. The school is comprised of 10 classroom areas from Nursery to Year 6 arranged around two school halls. In addition, we have a Learning Base where children with additional needs receive an individually planned curriculum as well as having access to mainstream classes in order to practise their skills.
Adjoining the main building is the Nursery Class with its own garden and play area and an I.C.C. (Integrated Children’s Centre) Satellite which focuses on pre-school children and their parents, providing services such as Health Visitors, parenting classes, baby club, speech and language, attention and listening etc. All our classrooms are attractive and well organised. Staff take great care to provide a stimulating and interesting environment for the pupils. The main school building allows access for pupils with disabilities.
The school is well resourced throughout with attractive and stimulating outdoor provision for Nursery through to Year 2, access to a range of ICT equipment and extensive grounds including a wildlife area and large pond.
